Future-Proofing Our Waterfronts: Team Attends Waterfront Alliance 2026 Conference
On Tuesday, May 19, Gedeon GRC was represented at the Waterfront Alliance 2026 Waterfront Conference: Future-Proofing our Waterfronts by Miles Kilcourse, Director of Research & Robotics Services, and Angelica Augustyniak, Senior Marketing & Business Development Specialist.
The conference brought together leaders from government, industry, science, and community sectors to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time: how to plan, design, and build resilient waterfronts in the face of accelerating climate impacts and evolving funding and policy landscapes.
Centered around the theme of “future-proofing,” this year’s event emphasized three critical priorities shaping the future of our coastlines:
✅ Resilience as the foundation for waterfront planning and design
✅ Navigating uncertainty in political and financial support through strategic partnerships
✅ Driving innovation and community-focused solutions to ensure long-term adaptability
Through a series of dynamic panels, workshops, and case studies, attendees explored actionable strategies for governance, financing, and systemic planning. Discussions also highlighted the importance of nature-based solutions, permitting reform, and lessons learned from coastal cities working to protect and strengthen their waterfront infrastructure.
By participating in conversations like these, our team continues to stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging solutions—bringing valuable insights back to our projects and clients.
