Earlier this year, the Hunts Point Interstate Access Improvement Project – Contract 3 was recognized as ASHE New York Metro’s Project of the Year for Large Projects ($40M+), a distinction that highlights innovation, coordination, and effective project delivery across a complex infrastructure effort.
That award‑winning project was the focus of discussion at the April ASHE New York Metro meeting, where industry leaders and project partners shared insights on collaboration, delivery strategies, and the project’s impact on the Hunts Point community in the Bronx.
The April meeting featured presentations from key project leaders, including Erik Koester, PE, Regional Director, Region 11, New York State Department of Transportation; Daileyne Abraham, PE, Director of Construction, Region 11, New York State Department of Transportation; and Sean Bolduc, PE, Regional Bridge Practice Lead for New York/New Jersey at Parsons. Their perspectives reinforced the importance of cross‑disciplinary teamwork in delivering complex transportation projects.
Gedeon GRC Consulting was proud to support this effort as a subconsultant, contributing to improvements that enhance mobility, safety, and access for the Hunts Point neighborhood—one of the busiest freight hubs in New York City.
Thank you to Landry Philémy, P.E., Director of Construction, and Zafar Iqbal, PE, PTOE, Director of Traffic Engineering, for attending the April ASHE meeting and representing Gedeon GRC as we celebrated this important milestone and the collective effort behind it.
Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this impactful project to life!
