Port Authority Unveils Historic $45 Billion Capital Plan to Transform Regional Infrastructure

Angelica Augustyniak, Senior Marketing & Business Development Specialist, and Mel Garber CSEng, F.ASCE, FIStructE, FSLIE, NOMA, Director of Building, joined NJ Alliance for Action industry leaders as The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey unveiled its largest capital plan ever—an unprecedented $45 billion investment to transform regional infrastructure.

Following a decade of success with projects like the reimagined Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), this historic plan includes continuous and new developments at EWR including:

- Terminal A Capacity Enhancements
- Terminal B Replacement at Newark Airport
- Other long-term improvements to EWR
- Updates to PATH facilities affected by Hurricane Sandy through the PATH Forward Program including but not limited to: 33rd Street Line Track and infrastructure improvements in underwater tunnels, Journal Square Track Improvements, Yard Upgrades at Harrison and C-Yard
- The Port of New York and New Jersey Improvements: Wharf Structures Restoration and Rebuilding & Port Water Infrastructure Upgrade
- Other critical improvements to keep the region moving including leveraging AI, autonomous vehicles, and next generation electric flight systems
